Zoanthids and Palythoa polyps are some of the most popular corals for beginners and experts reefing. Each coral is a colony of seperate polyps living together. They have an incredible array of colors and patterns. Extremely hardy and easy to keep they can tolerate any type of reef tank.
Lighting & Water Flow Movement: Zoanthids and Palythoa require moderate to high water flow and moderate lighting.
Tank Placement: Middle of the aquarium. They will expand quickly over a rock.
Feeding: Palythoa seems to accept feeding more than Zoanthids and can absorb dissolved organics. It is possible to give supplemental feedings like mixture of meaty foods.
Some Zoanthids and Palythoa polypscan contain neurotoxin and can be harmful, be very careful not to allow their polyps to contact any areas of broken skin.
